PRESERVING CAPE HERITAGE AND CULTURE THROUGH EXPLORING VISUAL ARTS AND EDUCATION
WINNER

Our Cape Town Heritage is honoured to announce that we have received the following award from the Western Cape Government DCAS:
Contribution by a Conservative Body, Heritage Organization, Museums towards the Promotion of Local History, Heritage or Renaming of Geographical Features
Receiving this award was an unexpected honour (it was our first nomination and award) and it serves as a powerful reminder of the impact of our work as a team in the last three years. The acknowledgment we've received fuels our commitment to continue our mission of educating the communities, marginalized artists, and youth that we aim to support.
We extend our heartfelt gratitude to Waseefa Dhansay for her dedication in nominating us and for her unwavering encouragement throughout this process. Her belief in our vision has been instrumental in motivating us to strive for excellence in our efforts.

*As a nonprofit organization, we want to clarify that our primary role is not to serve as agents for artists. While we are dedicated to supporting marginalized artists, our work does not involve direct representation of these individuals. Instead, our mission as a team focuses on amplifying and elevating marginalized artists by developing and showcasing their artwork while honouring cultural heritage through educational initiatives. While we do facilitate artwork sales through a commission-based model to ensure our sustainability, this commercial aspect is secondary to our fundamental commitment to our mission. We are dedicated to providing marginalized artists with a platform that increases their visibility and facilitate engagement with diverse audiences, potentially opening new and bigger opportunities for them.
